  • Museum visit ~ student preparations

6:00pm - Grays Call to Order,

  • Brief Grays members’ meeting

  • Welcome to honored Guests

Upon conclusion, Grays members and guests retire to the assembly area for student projects student program

6:30pm - 8:30pm - Showcase presentations:

  • National History Day Projects

  • Research Essay ~ Tesch Award

  • Video Documentaries

  • Website Presentations

Unwritten History Lecture: Stories My Grandfather Told Me

March’s Unwritten History Lecture features Michael Van Ness. He will share stories from his grandfather’s military experience. Van Ness’s grandfather, Major General John Anderson, was a West Point Graduate and was active in the Mexican Border Campaign, World War I, and World War II.

This lecture is free and open to members of Grays Armory as well as the public.

The Unwritten History Series is made possible by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

Event Details:

  • 1700 - Doors Open

  • 1730 - Light Fare Served

  • 1800 - Lecture Begins

Light fare is optional and cost is $17. Includes: selection of hot sandwiches, 2 salads, dessert cookie, and coffee.

Cleveland Grays Founder's Day Unwritten History Series

On February 19, 2024, we will kickoff the Unwritten History Series with a celebration of the Cleveland Grays 187th birthday, honoring all our members past and present. Our featured speaker, will be Cleveland Grays’ own, Dr. George Vourlojianis, speaking on the history of the Cleveland Grays. Dr. Vourlojianis is a professor emeritus of history at Lorain County Community College.

The Unwritten History Series is made possible by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

Event Details:

  • 1700 - Doors Open

  • 1745 - Dinner served

  • 1830 - Lecture begins

Cost for dinner is $30 (includes: Garden, Salad with Dressing, Lemon Pepper Chicken, Beef Tips Burgendy, Buttered Noodles, and celebration Birthday Cake and Coffee).
